May’s YP of the Month is…

Charlotte Fursier!!!

Charlotte had the great fortune of stumbling across the wonderful and enchanting theatrical universe of Calgary Young People’s Theatre in the fall of 2021 with one of her best friends. Ever eager to have an excuse to hang out with aforementioned friend, the two decided to enrol in one of the winter acting classes and audition at the next opportunity. Charlotte was cast in Cannonball 2022’s How to Make Small Talk at a Wedding, at which point she thoroughly fell in love with the theatre. She has since taken numerous classes with CYPT, and in December 2022 got to experience the realm of Assistant Stage Managing with the mainstage show Real Boi. In the following summer, Charlotte acted as Wadsworth in CLUE, an experience that she will forever remember and cherish. In the fall, a series of events led her to see the potential for a Cannonball show CYPT would love, which she wrote and is in the process of bringing to life as a director to be performed on stage in May, beached. She is so excited to share the amalgamation of her biggest passions with her friends and family in a very full circle journey before her graduation, and is so grateful to CYPT for giving her the opportunity to do so.
