Amelia Hughes has been involved with CYPT for nearly six years now! Amelia started with CYPT summer camps and then landed her first MainStage role in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING as Ursula in 2021. A performer was born! Amelia then played Virginia Otis, in the innovative non speaking interactive play, THE CANTERVILLE GHOST. She followed this up playing a singing deadly poison in the musical and outpatient show, THE POISON SQUAD, 2023. Amelia’s love for performing includes singing and songwriting as well, and she helped score and write music for three shows, even performing some originals live on stage ( WHIMSY, 2023, MAGIC, 2023, and ENCHANTED SECRETS- THE STAGED READING, 2024)!
Currently Amelia has a role in DEAR SANTA directed by Jamie Dunsdon, a fun, family friendly Christmas piece based on the play by Norm Foster, where she plays Kit Bishop, tickets coming soon!
Amelia feels extraordinarily lucky that she gets to be a part of this amazing community, full of people who have truly become family! Amelia is so excited to continue auditioning with CYPT and being a part of new and exciting projects! She wants to thank her family and friends for supporting her and coming to her shows, and to her parents who do so much to help her achieve her dreams!
“Please be an actual bubblegum tree this time….. oh no…….”
