August YP of the Month

August’s YP of the Month is…

Ruby Gaudet!!!

Ruby has been in love with CYPT ever since her very first summer camp way back when she was 10. After a few rounds of auditions, she finally stepped on to the West Village Theater stage in THE PROBABLY TRUE (BUT ALSO MADE UP) ADVENTURES OF THE IMAGINARY BOOK CLUB in 2018. She will always remember performing for the other 2018 Cannonball! shows, her best audience to date. Following that, she became determined to make this wonderful community a part of her life for as long as possible. She played many parts, including the dwarf Merry in SNOW WHITE, the naïve actress Folly in A PLAY ABOUT A DRAGON, Clara in THE NUTCRACKER: A NEW ADVENTURE, and Hero in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. More recently, she has branched out into the world of Assistant Stage Managing for FRIENDS OF MINE & THE TUESDAY CREW. Ruby has also been a part of the Cannonball! Festivals in 2019 (SUPER SPUD), 2021 (In Reality) and 2022, where she got the chance to co-write and direct her very own show, [STOP.]. She is currently working at CYPT summer camps, as she has for the past two years, and wouldn’t want to be spending her summer any other way.

Ruby Gaudet is so lucky to have found belonging here with CYPT. It is such a welcoming community full of people who encourage creativity to flourish in so many ways. Although she’s sad that this will be her last year here, she knows that she’ll always have a home to come back to, and she can’t wait to see what the next generation of kids will do. She wants to thank her brother Ben, without whom she might never have auditioned for her first shows, as well as every single person who’s made her feel welcome and a part of something bigger. She will always remember her incredible experience with this awesome community.
