That’s right, we’re back!

And gosh, we know this was a tough year. But, today – June 10, 2021 – we turn 29 years old, and we’re in the mood to celebrate. Now we’re ready to pull out our mops and buckets and laundry bins to wash that all away with Season 29: “It’ll All Come Out in the Wash!”

This is a season of secrets being revealed and old grudges being washed away. It’s a season of cleansing, as we say goodbye to the pandemic and hello to a year of theatrical joy. Join us as we shake off the dust for a season of magic, mayhem, and mystery.

We start off the season with our beloved Summer Drama Camps! Registration is open now for our camps in North, South, and West Calgary locations for youth age 4+. We also offer teen conservatory camps designed to give a more intensive experience, so visit our summer camps page if you’re looking for a fun way to connect after a year of social distancing.

Also this summer, we are bringing back our 2021 Cannonball Festival of Youth Driven Theatre, running August 11-21! This year’s festival features Going Up, Three Peas, Terror: a Love Story, In Reality, and Waiting Room. These five brilliant plays will be the first to grace the stage of West Village Theatre in sixteen months, and we can’t wait to share them with you.

In the fall, we will once again feature our year-round drama classes in multiple Calgary locations, and registrations are open for those now. Winter classes will also return, with registration opening this fall.

In December, we welcome back our first Mainstage play, William Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Jamie Dunsdon. A witty comedy about love, reconciliation, and mistaken identity, Much Ado will sure to have everyone rolling in the aisles.

In March, we present two one act plays written by the 2020 and 2021 Outpatient Collectives: Friends of Mine and The Tuesday Crew, directed by Kristin Eveleigh. These small-town sizzlers will be performed by one cast as a double-bill, so sign up to audition today!

Finally, we will return next May to our original Cannonball slot for the 2022 Cannonball Festival. If you are interested in submitting a project, check out the submissions page today. Applications are due September 30.

There will be a lot more to come this season as we head toward our 30th birthday in one year from now. We’ll be unleashing lots of surprises – starting today with a new website and refreshed logo – so stay tuned to our website and social media to keep up to date.

And although I’m sure those soap bubbles and hand sanitizers will continue to be around for some time to come as we work in COVID-friendly ways, we are so looking forward to being back together with you all!
