Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audiences Award

With the hustle and bustle of the summertime there are two rather big and rather exciting announcements we neglected to inform you about our ever passionate Artistic Director Kristin Eveleigh.

In June, Kristin was awarded The Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audiences Award. This is a special juried award given every year and designed to celebrate an individual who has made a significant contribution to Theatre for Young Audiences, and has been awarded to many amazing people including CYPT founder, the late Brian Dorscht (Kristin herself presented that award just two years ago, shortly before he passed). The award is sponsored by our friends at Quest Theatre, and named after the founding Artistic Director of Quest, Duval Lang and we thank them for celebrating our beloved Kristin.

Fast forward to September and not only does Kristin have her award, a hand-blown glass sculpture by Bee Kingdom Glass in the shape of a DINOSAUR, but she also has a beautiful baby boy named Everett. Kristin is technically on maternity leave until September 2020, but she’s already back in the theatre baby and all, dancing and singing away. We are so proud of Kristin. She’s made two of our favourite people in the entire world and is arguably the most humble and caring woman to grace our lives. We love her!
