Full-Day

Our week-long, full day camps are a great way to break up that long summer vacation. Camp kids spend their mornings learning various dramatic skills like acting, improvisation, and stage combat, and then in the afternoons, work with a CYPT professional theatre artist to build their very own play. These full-day camps run from 9am until 4pm, from Monday-Friday.

Two-Week Camps

Get ready to really hone those acting chops in our two-week camps. No experience is necessary, but older kids who’ve developed a taste for the dramatic will find this camp the perfect next step. Over two weeks, build a longer play in the afternoons and experience a broad range of morning drama fun!  Final performance is on the second Thursday of each camp.

Teen Improv!

Our Teen Camps are a great way to really dig in and explore a side of drama that most interests you, and Teen Improv is a long-time fan favourite. Improvisation is one of the most exciting theatrical art-forms to get your adrenaline running!  With no preparation, no script, and only your wits at your side, this is one of the most fast-paced and hands-on camps we offer.  Culminates in a performance at the end of the week!

Teen Intensive One

This intensive will offer participants a unique way to access the imagination. During the workshop participants will cultivate the freedom to be zany and take risks in order to create work that is honest (and funny). Together we will explore various acting approaches including clown, mask and physical storytelling techniques that will culminate in a sharing on the final day. Come and spend a week tapping into your inner fool as we follow impulses, have fun and go for the unknown!

Running from 9am to 4pm each day. Pre/Post care is not available. Lunch program is not available.

*Receive a 20% discount off ONE registration when you enroll multiple children OR enroll in both August Teen Intensives

Teen Intensive Two: Acting, Movement and Auditions

This camp is designed for young performers interested in creating new work. Rooted in the Lecoq physical theatre tradition, the week will centre on an exploration of cartoon mime with the aim of developing a brief solo performance. Cartoon mime is an irreverent approach to storytelling that invites the playful use of gesture to animate and illustrate devised work. It’s fine to have no idea what any of that means. More importantly the week will be playful, non-judgemental, and fun, emphasizing each participants creativity and uniqueness.

A portion of each day will also be devoted to preparing auditions for CYPT’s 29th season, so bring a monologue ready to play. If you don’t have a monologue, don’t fret! We’ll send out some options to choose from the week before camp starts!

Running from 9am to 4pm each day. Pre/Post care is not available. Lunch program is not available.
