North Campus Camps

Half-Day Camps

Got that little one that’s just kicking for a chance to show their flare, meet new friends, develop confidence, and have fun? Our half-day camps, taught by professional theatre artists at our North, South (Riverbend), and West Calgary locations are perfect for kids age 4-6. These half-day camps run from 9am until 12pm, from Monday-Friday each week (North and South) and from 1pm – 4pm from Monday to Friday each week (West). These camps culminate in a fun performance for parents and friends!

Full-Day

Our week-long, full day camps are a great way to break up that long summer vacation. Camp kids spend their mornings learning various dramatic skills like acting, improvisation, and stage combat, and then in the afternoons, work with a CYPT professional theatre artist to build their very own play. These full-day camps run from 9am until 4pm, from Monday-Friday.

Two-Week Camps

Get ready to really hone those acting chops in our two-week camps. Over two weeks, build a longer play in the afternoons and experience a broad range of morning drama fun!  Final performance is on the second Thursday of each camp.

Teen Acting and Stage Combat Intensive

Join us for a week long intensive of Acting and Stage Combat. This camp will focus on harnessing your individuality and how YOU can shine in any role, audition, and add some special skills to your acting resume!

Teen Improv

Our Teen Camps are a great way to really dig in and explore a side of drama that most interests you, and Teen Improv is a long-time fan favourite. Improvisation is one of the most exciting theatrical art-forms to get your adrenaline running!  With no preparation, no script, and only your wits at your side, this is one of the most fast-paced and hands-on camps we offer.  Culminates in a performance at the end of the week!

North Campus Classes

Act One (Winter 2024 Session)

This popular class provides a fun filled introduction to drama. Developing your child’s creativity at an early age encourages social skills and confidence in your young one. Various dramatic skills are explored through games and exercises including storytelling, character building, improvisation, movement and much more!

West Location: Mondays from 5:30-7pm.

North and South Locations: Saturdays from 10:30am – 12pm.

 

 

Act Two (Winter 2024 Session)

This class provides a unique and creative outlet for kids to express themselves, build confidence and meet new friends. In this class students will explore improvisation, voice and movement skills and working as an ensemble to create a final presentation. In the Winter Term, those skills will be further developed through play building and will culminate in a final scripted performance.

West Location: Thursdays from 5 – 6:30pm.

North and South Locations: Saturdays from 1 – 3pm.

Act Three (Winter 2024 Session)

Whether you’re brand new to drama or coming back for more, this class is sure to please. Students will be able to try out a wide variety of dramatic skills and discover what they love about theatre. In both terms there will be a final presentation showcasing your child’s talent and all the new abilities they have acquired.

Thursday evenings, 6:00pm – 8:00pm in North and 6:30pm – 8:30pm in South (Riverbend and CKE) and West locations.

Act Four (Fall 2023 Session)

This class builds on basic drama skills, but also offers more advanced training for older students. Various techniques will be explored such as intermediate improvisation, voice and movement, characterization, scene development and much more. In both terms there will be a final presentation showcasing your child’s talent and all the new abilities they have acquired.

West Location: Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

North Location: Mondays from 6 – 8:00pm.

South Riverbend Location: Mondays from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

South CKE Location: Mondays from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

Teen Class (Winter 2024 Session)

With no preparation, no script, and only your wits at your side, this is one of the most fast-paced and hands-on classes we offer.  Culminates in a performance in Improv Night as part of the 2024 Cannonball Festival on Friday May 17, 2024Please mark your calendars, as this performance occurs a week after classes have ended!

West Location: Thursdays from 7-9pm.

North Location: Tuesdays from 6-8pm.

South Riverbend Location: Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:30pm.

South CKE Location: Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:30pm.
