Our fall production of Romeo ands Juliet is entering its final week, and we here at CYPT are being blown away by the passion and dedication of our young actors. And there is no better example than our Young Person of the Month! We give you:
Scarlett Bowler!!!
Scarlett has always loved performing but her journey with CYPT started when she auditioned for the 2024 Cannonball Festival (with her cringy British accent) and got cast as C/Cali in the amazing production of Paroxysm by Molly Corky Flatters. Her experience in Paroxysm had such a lasting effect on her (she’s still trying to wash the glitter off) that she decided to audition yet again for CYPT. So she came back to this lovely community, almost a year later, and had the privilege of smoking fake cigarettes as a swing and backup singer in the outpatient production of The Smoking Gun. Next came Cannonball 2025 where she played Charlotte in Enchanted Secrets. Scarlett is now working on her first Shakespearean play as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet and is loving every second of it.
When she’s not throwing herself into acting, Scarlett keeps herself busy by trying to survive high school, reading, thrifting, getting overly invested in baking shows, and hanging out with her friends. For Scarlett, CYPT is a home away from home and she’s forever grateful for the opportunities she’s been given and the never ending love, joy, and whimsy in this community.
She’d like to thank all of the people who have supported her, believed in her, and have pushed her to do her best. You know who you are. 🙂
“Theatre is the place where dignity goes to die.”
