May YP of the Month

May’s YP of the Month is…

Kate Hall!!!

Kate has been fascinated at the thought of theatre sense as long as she can remember. Being on stage, and understanding how everything comes together to make something so beautiful always caught her eye. That’s how she got involved with the wonderful CYPT, she wanted to understand how it all really worked… and with a little push from her parents she auditioned for CANNONBALL FESTIVAL 2022 and landed her first ever role in the one act CRESCENT. After that she couldn’t shake the feelings theatre had left with her, so she auditioned for CANNONBALL FESTIVAL 2023 and played the role “X” in HOMING PIGEON this show opened Kate’s eyes to what it meant to be a part of the theatre community. West Village Theatre started to look more like a home, that she didn’t want to leave. The CYPT community gave her confidence in what she loved to do, so with that she auditioned for her first main stage SOMEDAY. One whole year later she auditioned for FROZEN DEEP and further grew connections with lifelong friends.

This year Kate took a jump into the other side of theatre by writing and submitting FORGETTING YOU to CANNONBALL FESTIVAL 2025, that she is now directing. CYPT gave Kate what she always longed for in theatre, the chance to learn. She feels her skills build actively with the family of CYPT, and she truly doesn’t know where she would be without any of them.
