September’s YP of the Month is…

Annika Keatley!!!

In August 2021, Annika stepped into West Village Theatre to audition for CYPT’s 29th season. She had gone to see CYPT shows before, and she loved the thrill of being onstage. She’d gone to countless theatre camps, but she’d never actually been in a production.

Her audition went well and she was cast in FRIENDS OF MINE and THE TUESDAY CREW. She had such a great time that she auditioned for the next mainstage show, THE LITTLE PRINCESS, and was cast in her second show. 

But in between those two shows, she had been tirelessly refining and working on her first one act play, HOW TO MAKE SMALL TALK AT A WEDDING, which she wrote and directed. Participating in the Cannonball Festival was possibly one of the most rewarding experiences in her life, and it wouldn’t have been the same without the amazing, supportive cast and producers (and maybe the stage manager as well, but she’s not so sure about that one). (Editor’s note: It’s because they’re really good friends).

Now she’s in rehearsals for her third mainstage show, THE CANTERVILLE GHOST. But the crazy thing is that all of this has happened in just one year. She hopes that she can continue growing with CYPT, onstage and offstage, for many years to come.
