January YP of the Month

January YP of the Month

Happy New Year!  2017 just started, but our 2017 production of Macbeth has been in rehearsals for weeks, and we’re already thrilled out of our gourds by what this amazing ensemble is putting together.

Now, it seems that in each of our shows, there is often one actor who is asked to play a million different roles.  It’s a blessing and a curse – lots of costume changes but lots of fun – and in Macbeth, the actor charged with the job of playing King Duncan, Doctor, Murderer #3, Doctor again, and then Siward also happens to be our January YP of the Month.  He’s only been with us for a handful of shows, but we really enjoy having his positive energy and sense of humor in the room with us.  We can hardly believe he’s graduating this year and we’ll miss having his talent on our stage, but we’re so excited to hear that he’s continuing on in theatre as a member of our 2017 Outpatient Collective and then at the university level.  And who is this wonderful and witty Wizard of West Village Theatre?

January’s YP of the Month is none other than,

Carter Debusschere!!!

Parker and Carter in Atlantis (2015)

Carter began his CYPT career in the winter of 2015 playing Doc Ellis in a production of Atlantis, the first major production of his entire acting career. He then came back to CYPT for the 2016 Cannonball Festival, then he performed in Storybook’s summer production of Grease, and now he’s in rehearsals for CYPTs 2017 production of Macbeth in which he plays King Duncan.

Carter is currently directing his own production in Bishop Grandin’s Celebration of Youth and Theatre. After graduating high school carter will be attending the University of Lethbridge going for His Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education majoring in dramatic arts and drama education. CYPT has had the most profound impact on Carter’s life and he would recommend this program to any young person looking to begin their theatre career on the best note possible. When not on stage or in rehearsal Carter is usually listening to Broadway musicals and eating inhuman amounts of popcorn and PB&J sandwiches.
