August YP

We’re closing Richard III this weekend, which means we’re saying goodbye to some of our graduating performers who are appearing in their last show.  You’ve met many of them in past months, but this month, we’re saying goodbye to one special guy by making him our August YP of the Month.  He’s been on our stage in some powerhouse roles, and we’re so excited that he’s continuing on to study drama at the post-secondary level.  We wish him all the best and can’t wait to hear about his future adventures.

August’s YP of the Month is none other than,

Brandon Page!!!!!

Brandon is an 18 year old actor raised in Calgary. He has been acting in theatre all around Calgary for about 14 years, between school plays, community theatre and for the past 2 years with CYPT! CYPT has given Brandon so much amazing professional experience that has translated to his career in professional theatre as well as film. Brandon started acting at around the age of 4 years old when he saw who would become his inspiration as well as aspiration, Johnny Depp, on his TV. For the longest time he had no idea that actors played the different characters in film and television, but when he figured it out Johnny Depp became everything he wanted to be. Brandon has starred in many different theatre projects over the years such as: Around the World in 80 Days, Alice in Wonderland , You Can’t Take it With You as well as the Drama fest award winning play for best overall production, Truth and Reconciliation. With CYPT Brandon has taken part in 4 plays: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Curse of the House of Atreus , The Lost Prince and most recently Richard III. Having delved deep into the world of theatre and having all of his inspirations being film actors, Brandon decided to search around Calgary for film roles and landed his first one a year ago in Olaf Blomerus’ Hello World. Recently Brandon has taken up directing before he graduated highschool, taking on Kristin Ranshaw’s The Hemp Shop.

Brandon will soon be leaving Calgary for a short while to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Arts and a Bachelor of Education at the University of Lethbridge. He may only be 18 but he is so unbelievably happy with his experiences and is so thankful to so many people. He would like to thank everyone at CYPT for their continuous support and love. He would like to thank Jaime Dunsdon for showing him the path he wants to take with his life. He would like to thank Meaghan Lautischer for being there for him for the past 7 years of his life and being his biggest inspiration.

“Acting is one of the hardest things in the world to do, but if you are passionate and put everything you have into it you will succeed. Put everything you have into everything you do.” – Brandon Page
